Past Activities

Since its inception, the Boris Christoff Foundation actively supported the many activities related to the master program in opera “Santa Cecilia Opera Studio”, organized by the Santa Cecilia National Academy until 2015.

Among the various co-produced artistic initiatives, there are a number of opera productions staged in the Sala Petrassi at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, entirely made with the young artists of the Academy’s master courses.

Celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Boris Christoff
The Boris Christoff Foundation, in collaboration with the Santa Cecilia National Academy and the Bulgarian Institute of Culture, has promoted a series of initiatives to celebrate the figure of the great Bulgarian bass, culminating in the “Concert for Christoff – A Voice within the soul” which re-proposed the same chamber program that the great artist presented on the occasion of his last appearance at the Santa Cecilia National Academy back in 1977. The concert was performed by some of the best artists from the Santa Cecilia Opera Studio Master Course that the Boris Christoff Foundation supported for many years.
Other initiatives included:

  • Photographic exhibition curated by the Bulgarian Institute of Culture
  • World premiere screening of the documentary “The prayer of Boris Christoff” by Magdalena Manolova
